Location reminders: remind me when I arrive or leave

A location reminder goes off when you get to a place or leave it, not at a set time. In Kettle you pick a shop, a street or a town, choose arrive or leave, and write the reminder: “Buy milk” at the shop, “Lock up” when you leave home. Once, or every time you are there.

Add a reminder for a place

1. Tap Add (the + button), then choose Place at the top and type what to remember.
2. Pick the place: search for a shop, a street or a town, tap Here for where you are now, or tap a place you saved, like Home or Work. You can set how close counts: a shop (150 m), a street (500 m) or a town (5 km).
3. Choose When I arrive or When I leave, and Once or Every time.
4. Tap Add.

You can also open the Map, tap a place and choose Remind me here.

Good to know

• It works with Kettle closed. Allow location when Kettle asks.
• If you are already there when you add it, it waits until you next arrive.
• Like any reminder, a place can keep reminding until you tap Done, or be an Alarm. On iPhone a place alarm plays the alarm sound, not the full screen.
• Saved places have an icon, like Home, Work or the shop. The Map shows them and the reminders waiting at each.
• Send one to someone: they add their own copy, waiting at the same place.
• Where you are stays on your phone. Searching for a place and the map need the internet; your reminders do not.
