Quick answers

A reminder didn't whistle

Check that notifications are on for Kettle, and that your phone isn't in a Focus or Do Not Disturb that hides them. On Android, set Kettle's battery use to unrestricted. iPhone lets Kettle line up about 60 whistles at a time and Kettle tops them up whenever you open it or tap a notification button, so if you have many nagging reminders, open Kettle now and then.

A new phone

Install Kettle again with the same App Store or Google Play account; you don't pay twice. Bring your reminders with the phone's backup, or restore a Kettle backup from Settings.

Places

A place reminder needs location. On iPhone choose Always or While Using, and on Android allow location all the time, so Kettle can whistle while it's closed. Searching for a place needs the internet; try the shop and the town, like “Rimi Valmiera”.

Sending a reminder

Tap Send on a reminder and pick an app. The other person taps the link to add their own copy. If their phone doesn't have Kettle, the link shows the reminder and where to get the app.

Backups

Kettle saves a backup every day and keeps the last 14. On iPhone they're in Files, On My iPhone, Kettle, Backups. Restore from Settings.

Your data

Kettle keeps everything on your phone and has no account. See the privacy policy. For privacy requests, use the form or write to privacy@kettle-reminder.app.
